The 2022 Biennale produced an incredible variety of beautiful images and scenes reflecting the theme Spirit of Place. Some of these were created during the event and some before in the creation of the works.

Artist Videos and Stories of Place
The model for Spirit of Place opened the opportunity to tell many stories.
In the lead-up to 2022's Biennale, we talked to three of our artists and Gadubanud traditional owner Richard Collopy about Lorne Sculpture Biennale and Spirit of Place. Artists Ryan Kennedy, Simon Buttonshaw and Laine Hogarty were all asked about the challenge of creating work to a specific theme, their knowledge of Lorne prior to commencing as an artist with LSB, and what has surprised and inspired them. Each story provides an insight into each artist's work for LSB2022.
The broader program for the Biennale in 2022 included a series of conversations, 'Spirit of Place Conversations' - facilitated panel discussions involving LSB2022 artists and special guests expanding upon curatorial themes.
