Carmel Wallace’s art practice focuses on the advantages of a multi-disciplinary exploration of place and its ramifications for environmental awareness and ethics. She employs a variety of media in her sculpture, installation and printmaking processes, often incorporating cast-off or recycled materials into her work.
Sheltered in the shadows beneath ten Cypresses, the site’s twisted ancient-looking tea-trees and muted palette create a distinctive atmosphere evocative of an archaeological site. In this context, Carmel will present Lorne Lode:Sampling the Core, a suite of sculptural 'core-samples' of our time embedded with stories of Lorne’s past.
